What effect will Tantric practices have on my prostate?
Johanina Wikoff
Q: I am concerned about having prostate problems now that I'm in my 40s, because the incidence of prostate cancer is so high in American men. What effect would the Tantra practices have on my prostate?
A: An international study of groups of celibate males discovered that the only group to be virtually free of prostate cancer was the Chinese Taoist monks who practiced Taoist sexology meditations, a form of solo Tantra. The Taoist and male Tantric practices flex the musculature around the prostate, thus massaging it, releasing localized tension, and increasing circulation and flow of blood. These practices also circulate the energy charge of sexual stimulation and prevent energetic stagnation in the genital and prostate areas. Furthermore, the somatic pathological influence of psychological issues is also usually diminished because of the sustained heightened pleasure and joy associated with practicing Tantra. Anecdotal evidence seems to indicate that Tantra training and practice is indeed beneficial for prostate gland health.
