The "Clasping Positions" are ones in which the woman and the man maintain a straight legged, rather rigid posture in respect to each other. Clasping comes from the idea that the woman must clasp or hold onto the man's Lingam with her tight Yoni muscles (Get practicing those PC Muscle Kegel exercises!) and thighs. These positions or Asanas (Sanskrit) don't allow for much movement. When the legs are stiff the feet can't be employed to help lift the pelvic region and move the hips and spine in a rhythmic swing.

The couple can be lying in these combinations: woman on back/man on top, man on back/woman on top, woman on stomach/man on top face down, side by side facing towards each other, side by side/back to front as in spooning. The spooning position types are a little freer in their possibilities for undulating and moving in unison.
