What is a Yoni massage?

Johanina Wikoff

Q: What is a "yoni" massage?
A: Yoni is a Sanskrit term for vagina. The translation means womb, origin or source. Specifically, Yoni refers to the female pubic region, the vulva and vagina. The East, unlike the West where terms for the genitals are frequently harsh and unflattering, uses reverential terms for the male and female genitalia. In the East women and the feminine are worshipped as an embodiment of the divine and Yoni has a larger significance as the symbol of the universal womb and the source of all existence. Yoni massage is a Western development. This is massage that might be intended to heal the genitals of any wounds from past experiences, but is most often intended to open a woman to greater pleasure. The focus includes the clitoris, the vulva and the G spot.
