What is white celibate tantra between committed partners?
Robert Frey
Q: Can you give me some insight? I have heard the term "white tantra" several times. I understand it is shared with a committed partner, very intense, but you remain celibate. Can you explain this to me. Thanks, Sue
A: This has proven to be an interesting question for me and my associates. We have several answers for you. I have heard "white tantra" used by some to describe solo practices, and by others (I think the Sikhs) to describe non-sexual partner practices that are primarily energy work in a strong spiritual context. Suzie, here at Tantra.com, has understood it to mean Yoga and Yogic practices whereas "red tantra" is sexual Yoga, with a partner. Her reference is Charles Muir, Tantra teacher. Since it is possible to go into ecstatic states (this includes multiple orgasms) without any sexual contact, I find it highly possible that the term "white tantra" may well be used to describe very intense practices yet you remain celibate.
