"When the woman places one of her legs on her lover's shoulder, and stretches the other out, and then places the latter on his shoulder, and stretches the other out, it is called the "splitting of a bamboo"

- The woman lies on her back and can be propped up by pillows placed at her back.
- Her partner squats or sits on his feet with a slightly forward tilt.
- The woman has one leg bent with her foot on the floor or bed.
- The other leg is on the man’s shoulder, with the ankle hooked on the shoulder of the man or straight up in the air and held by her partner's hand.
- At the couple's own pace, one leg is then shifted and the opposite mirror image of the position is then assumed. As in the Kama Sutra description above, the legs are at one moment split one way and then the other way...
